H.S. Football: Bears end season 2-5

MORGANTOWN - Butler County ended the shortened 2020 high school football season 2-5.

The Bears, under the direction of head coach Brandon Embry, notched wins over Hart County and Ohio County. Butler County won its season opener and finale. However, the Bears dropped games to McLean County, Hancock County, Grayson County, Todd County Central and Owensboro Catholic.

Two of Butler County's games scheduled for the 2020 high school football season were canceled due to COVID-19.

Butler County finished 0-4 in Class 2A, District 2. Along with Butler County, Class 2A, District 2 features Owensboro Catholic, McLean County, Hancock County and Todd County Central. 

Opponents outscored the Bears 262-142 during the 2020 high school football season.

Quarterback Jagger Henderson led Butler County throughout the 2020 high school football season. Through the air, Henderson completed 73 of 144 passes for 795 yards and 11 touchdowns. Henderson, who threw five interceptions, rushed 65 times for 320 yards and four touchdowns to rank as the Bears' leading rusher. 

Solomon Flener was Henderson's top target, hauling in 19 receptions for 286 yards and four touchdowns. 

Butler County benefited from a balanced offensive attack. The Bears rushed 202 times for 900 yards and 10 touchdowns. 

Jordan Todd ranked second in rushing for the Bears, taking 38 carries for 236 yards and two touchdowns. 

Defensively, Josh Morris recorded a tea-high 65 tackles for the Bears. 

Following the conclusion of the latest gridiron season, multiple members of the Butler County football team are making the transition to basketball.
