BROWNSVILLE - Butler County prevailed in a 12th District volleyball match on Tuesday, Sept. 22, outlasting host Edmonson County 3-2 (15-25, 25-20, 20-25, 25-15, 15-8),

With the win, Butler County improved to 5-2 overall and 1-2 in the 12th District.

Edmonson County dropped to 5-4 overall and 0-3 in the district with the loss. 

Autumn Gidcumb delivered 15 kills, 17 digs and 7 service aces to lead Butler County to the district win.

Along with Gidcumb, Butler County's winning effort included Abigail Dockery (26 digs, 6 service aces, 1 assist), Kayla Green (8 kills, 2 digs, 4 service aces, 1 block), Delaina Flener (7 kills, 20 digs, 1 service ace), Grace Embry (7 kills, 1 dig), Carley Jones (18 assists, 1 kill, 3 service aces), Alexis Burdin (18 assists, 1 dig), Lexa Johnson (1 block) and Cassidy Parker (1 dig). 

Kaylee Lindsey (10 kills, 5 kills, 3 digs, 3 service aces) and Abbie Slaughter (44 digs, 1 service ace) combined to pace Edmonson County in the district match.

Both Butler County and Edmonson County will compete in the 12th District Volleyball Tournament in October.
