Tourism Commission provides funds for 2020 Catfish Festival, Green River Museum & Rochester Park
The Butler County Tourism Commission met on February 18th at the Butler County Courthouse. Chairman Roger Southerland determined a quorum was present and presided over the meeting. The minutes and the treasurer's report were approved.
Three groups presented reports to the Commission and requested funding.
Robin Johnson and Laurie Keen from the Morgantown-Butler County Chamber of Commerce requested funds for advertising for the Green River Catfish Festival (GRCF). They shared demographic numbers from the 2019 GRCF. The commission voted to give the chamber $2,500 for the 2020 festival.

Tommy Hines from the Green River Museum reported on the visitors, renovations, and activities at the museum. The commission voted to allot $2,500 to help with the restoration of the kitchen in the superintendent's home.

The Rochester Ladies League shared how they had used previous funds for beautification projects and entertainment for the Rochester Festival. They requested $600 for basketball backboards for the Rochester City Park. The request was granted.
