Suggs teaches heart-shaped painting class
Lilly Suggs, Junior Arts Guild Leader, taught 16 young students to create a heart-shaped painting this past Saturday. Seventeen-year-old Lilly has only been painting seriously for four years, but she is one of the most accomplished painters in Butler County. Her raccoon family on the mural at the Butler County Extension Office is one of the favorites.
Lilly has helped on two painting projects for the Chamber of Commerce and helped paint the T-Rex's for the Art Guild display at the Green River Catfish Festival. She also helps face paint for local groups and events.
When she is not painting, reading is one of her favorite pastimes. One day a week, she volunteers at the Owl Academy, pre-school for two to four-year-olds at Morgantown Elementary, where they learn letters, numbers, finger painting, and interaction with others.
Some of her artwork can be seen or purchased at P31, located at 104 South Tyler Street in Morgantown.
