Bassmasters Kick Off 31st Season @ Peabody

Pat Grubb and Elijah Flener taking 1st place with 14.24 lbs

Butler County Bassmasters began their 31st season at the Peabody WMA with the 2019 Kick-off Open on Saturday, March 16th. The air and water was cold and all of the recent rains produced some dirty water.  Peabody WMA usually provides excellent early season opportunities for big bass and Saturday was no exception with multiple 5+lb fish being weighed in. 20 boats participated in the tournament with:

Pat Grubb and Elijah Flener taking 1st place with 14.24 lbs,

2nd Raymond Austin and Kenny Wood 14.14 lbs.,

3rd Travis Warren and Chad Morris,

4th Daniel Cardwell and Nathan Neighbors 12.03 lbs.

Big bass of the tournament went to Daniel Cardwell and Nathan Neighbors with a 5.88 lb largemouth.  The next BCB event will be the first regular season tournament at Lake Malone State Park on Saturday March 30th. The tournament starts at 7:00 AM with weigh-in at 3:00 PM. Entry fee will be $40.00/boat.  The annual $10/person membership fee is required to fish this tournament. Come on out for a great day of fishing.

BCB would like to thank all of our members and 2019 sponsors: Ace Hardware, Beech Tree News, Jackson Chiropractic, and Interceptor Bait Company, for their commitment to the sport of bass fishing and our community. BCB is looking forward to a great year of fishing and fellowship in 2019.  For anyone wanting to learn more about BCB or wishing to fish with Butler County Bassmasters in 2019, listed below is their contact information.
