BC Cross Country Gatorland Run Results

The Butler County Cross Country team competed at the Gatorland Run on Saturday, September 22.   It was rainy, cool and muddy and this team had a great race with six runners running personal bests!  

Case Hooten, 6th grader earned 5th place in the Boys Elementary 2000 Meter Run with a time of 7:40 and Marvin Brown, 6th grader ran a time of 8:43.

Emma Winchel won 1st place the Girls Elementary 2000 Meter Run with a time of 7:53. She was followed by Ann Marie Skaggs with a time of 8:59 and Lily Glass with a time of 9:01.  All three girls are 5th graders at MES.

The varsity girls were led by Autumn Jenkins with a 5k time of 22:49 which is a PR for this course.  She was followed by Delaney Embry with her best 5k time in five years with a 23:57.   Runner Mattie Smith finished with 24:52 which is a PR for the season. Michelle Cardwell finished with a 27:55 followed by Samantha Henderson with a PR for the season at 27:56.  Lydia Wells finished with a time of 35:53.

Parker Smith ran the 3k middle school boys race and earned 9th place with a time of 11:31.  Briley Webster ran the 3k middle school girls race and finished with a time of 15:25.

The varsity boys were led by Connor Glass with a 5k time of 20:33 which is a PR for the season. He was followed by Bowen Kirby with a time of 21:36 and Jacob Camp with a time of 23:48; a PR for the season.  Dawson Deel finished with a time of 28:59.

Runners also had good results at the Purple Strider Race in Bowling Green and the Hancock County All Comers Race.  At Hancock County, Girls Varsity runner Autumn Jenkins ran a 22:46 5k and earned 2nd place.  She was followed by Delaney Embry with a time of 24:37 (4th place); Mattie Smith, 26:11 and 8th place; Briley Webster, 26:47 and 10th place; Samantha Henderson, 31:02 and 16th place and Lydia Wells, 33:32 and 20th place. In Boys Varsity, Parker Smith ran a 19:49 and earned 6th place.  He was followed by Conner Glass, 21:23 and 19th place; Bowen Kirby, 22:32 and 25th place; Jacob Camp, 24:09 and 33nd place and Dawson Deel, 29:28 and 45th place.  In middle school action, Emma Winchel ran a 15:07 3200 Meter run and earned 2nd place.  She was followed by Lily Glass with a 5th place finish and a time of 17:18 and Ann Marie Skaggs with a 11th place finish and a 19:00 time.  In the boys middle school, Case Hooten finished in 6th place with a 3200 Meter time of 14:27.  Marvin Brown finished 19th with a time of 16:04.

The team will compete again on Thursday, September 27 at Hodgenville, on Saturday, September 29 at the Mustang Stampede and again on Saturday, October 6 at the Fast Cats Classic in Owensboro.
