I am Osei Thomas running for Fourth District Magistrate. I live in the heart of beautiful Jetson and I love it. I was raised in Hoover, Alabama. I first moved to Bowling Green to attain an accounting degree at Western Kentucky University.  I would attend WKU and receive an Associates in Computing with emphasis in Desktop Publishing.  I later graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from WKU.  I love business…so I concentrated on 2 other degrees also.   I’m shy a few credits for a degree in Entrepreneurial Studies and also Restaurant Hospitality & Management.  In my spare time, I deal with stock market and investments.

I am married to the sweet and lovely Amy Smith-Thomas.  We enjoy the country life in Jetson with our fur babies.  My wife is an 8th Grade middle school teacher at Butler County Middle School.  She was born and raised here and has a very caring and respectful family: parents Doug and Enaleen Smith, her sister Lisa Gott married to Tim, their son Kane Gott and her younger sister Angela, who is married to Ryan Emmick. We are a close family who enjoys running our businesses in Butler County.

I own and operate Elite Detailing that has now been running for 14 years.  My business is responsible for keeping many car lots, various business clients, and many retail customers happy with my services.  My work ethic and word of mouth keeps my shop busy.  Through my business I took over two competitors and grew their businesses five times their size.  I feel my business background and education make myself well qualified for this position. 

Politically… I am the Vice-Chairman of Butler County Republican Party. I was honored to win Republican of the Year in 2017. Over the past four years, I’ve represented all political functions and meetings for our county.  I attended meetings way before I decided to run for magistrate. I have strong political ambitions to help Butler County to the utmost.  I’m not doing this just for myself; I want to see Butler County be the best it can be. 

I am running for fourth district magistrate so I can help make our district and county a safer environment.  I would like to help where needed in fourth district and throughout the county.  I understand I can do more at a magistrate position with my votes.  I want to help build our infrastructure here throughout our government. I support and will continue to help emergency responders of all aspects in our county as well as teachers and education. I plan to raise awareness of what our county has to offer.  My main goals would be economic development and selling this county to others.  It is vital towards the future of our county that we grow to produce revenue and raise our numbers on all aspects.  I would love hearing from citizens regarding their needs or concerns. I will work fairly and respectfully with other officials to get things done.

In the future, I would like to see Butler County as that country town that many from surrounding areas escape to for that weekend getaway of fun or to live here.  Butler County, in my vision, would still have that hometown feeling. I would also like for us to have better internet access.  In the future I would like to see businesses booming in our county and people spending money and using businesses here and not driving elsewhere.  I think it’s time we focused on getting the youth to stay in Butler County to make this future possible.

In conclusion, I would love to see our fire department running as best as it can. I would love to see liter abatement program running like it should run.  I will work to make sure our emergency responders are treated well and fairly here. I want even more support and recognition for our veterans and those who are currently serving. I would like for rock bids to be done fairly for Green River Materials.  Also, as an animal lover, I want our shelter to be one of the best ones around.

As a citizen living here, I am proud to say that I love Butler County. I’m here to listen to you and fight for what needs to be done. I humbly ask for your vote. I would greatly appreciate it.
