Single Vehicle Collision Results in Fatality

Bowling Green, KY (July 27, 2017)- At 5:27 PM,  Kentucky State Police, Post 3 Bowling Green responded to the William Natcher Parkway at the 20 mile marker to investigate a single vehicle injury collision.  Preliminary investigation revealed that Corey N. Millay (27), of Morgantown, KY was operating a 2005 Toyota passenger car and was traveling southbound when she exited the right shoulder of the roadway, striking an embankment.  Millay’s vehicle then reentered the roadway traveling across both lanes coming to final rest in the median of the Natcher Parkway.  

Corey Millay and a passenger, Billy (Jorden) Phelps (28), were both ejected from the vehicle.  Millay was pronounced deceased by the Warren County Coroner’s Office.  Phelps was originally transported to the Medical Center Hospital in Bowling Green for treatment, but was later transferred to Vanderbilt University Hospital where he is currently listed in critical condition.  Neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt.

The investigation is still ongoing and being led by Trooper First Class Chad Smith.  He was assisted on scene by Woodburn Fire Department, Butler and Medical Center EMS, Warren County Coroner’s Office, and other KSP personnel.  No other details are available for release at this time.
