Don Locke: Lookin Thru Bifocals
The word “Just” is used 80 times in the Bible. The word “Justice” is used only 29 times in the Bible. To me it doesn’t take rocket science to understand that Bible deems “Just”, to outweigh the word “Justice”.
If we look at meanings, Justice means, the administration of the law. Just, on the other hand, simply means, fairness, honesty, uprightness. In Philippians 4:8, we find the word just-this passage tells us to meditate on the word, “Just”. So, we would ask the question, are all laws fair, honest, upright, and “Just”? Given, that many of man’s laws are fraught with the idea of, the results justify the means. This was Hitler’s attitude when he confiscated all the German citizens’ guns in WWII. When the government takes my land/and or property, under the guise of something called Eminent Domain-this may be the law. But it is a wrong-law. U.S. citizens’ possessions are protected under our U.S. Constitution. The whole nine yards- including our GUNS, and our privacy.
This same U.S. Constitution also makes NO provision for arresting a person, or persons, on what he/she could-should or would do. Although it is my wish that folks could hang-out with the right crowd. But you can’t legally arrest a person because of the company he/she keeps. We currently are seeing and reading where a person may have been in prison for twenty or so years, and with the advent of DNA testing have been released. Thank goodness for new technology. “Gabriel’s Trumpet” was about a wrongly convicted person. Also, law enforcement officer is not allowed to shoot-down a person who, for no other reason, than the fact the policemen suspects the person who may run. Fleeing is not a sign of guilt always. But it is a sign of FEAR.
Kindest regards…..
