A change in location due to wet field conditions did not dampen the enthusiasm as 136 terrapins were entered in the Green River Catfish Festival Terrapin Race.  Held earlier today at the Eva J. Hawes building, the annual event is always a crowd favorite.

This year's race featured 10 individual "heat" races and one championship "feature heat" race comprised of all winners.  Each heat race ($20, $15, $10) and the feature race ($25, $15, $10) awarded prize money for first, second and third place.  

Grand prize winners for the 2016 Terrapin Race were Myles Martin-first place, #89; Chloe Camplin-second place, #130; and Tanner Farris-third place, #75.
