Ribbon Cutting @ North Butler Elementary for Boys & Girls Club
The Butler County Boys & Girls Club continues to grow in Butler County. A ribbon cutting was held on Thursday, October 15th at North Butler Elementary as the club expanded to the north side of Green River.
“We have always served children from North Butler but they had to be transported to the Club in town. We knew that with a satellite location would allow us to serve more children,” said Bruce White, Executive Director of the Club.
Currently, the Club averages about 80 students at town and 35 at North Butler Elementary daily.
On hand for the ribbon cutting were Senator C.B. Embry Jr. and Congressman Brett Guthrie. Each took the time to talk with students individually asking them about the Club.
“It is a privilege to be here, you are part of one of the best Clubs in the country. The club using this school is about your future, we want you to have the best education, and opportunity to be whatever you want to be,” said Guthrie.
After the ribbon cutting refreshments were served in the cafeteria.
