Queen of the Diamonds Pageant

Butler County Little League held their first Queen of the Diamond pageant on Saturday. The pageant was open to local girls from birth-14, and boys 19-23 months.

Birth - 6 months girls category winners were Second Runner-up Naomi Waogner, daughter of Felicia Hale and Eather Waogner; First Runner-up Avery Sue Carr, daughter of Brad and Melissa Carr; and Little Miss Slugger: Harper Rian Cessna, daughter of Maddy Roche and Trent Cessna.

Winning the 19-23 months Boys category was Little Mr. Slugger: Evan Lewis Proctor, son of Derek Proctor and Maddie Wessels.

In the 2 Year Old Girls category, First Runner-up Teagin Lace Pedigo, daughter of Holly & Randy Pedigo, and Miss Slugger: Avery Morris, daughter of Chad and Denishia Morris.

For the 3 Year Old Girls category they had Second Runner-up Isabella Marie McCrady, daughter of Stacy & Shannon McCrady; First Runner-up Analin Rayne Scott, daughter of Eric & Jennifer Scott, and Miss Slugger, Ariannah LaShae Rife, daughter of Tiana Rife.

In the 4-5 Year Old Girls Category, the winners were 2nd Runner-up Sophie West, daughter of Nickie West; First Runner-up Jenelle Kimmel, daughter of Matt & Elizabeth Kimmel; and Miss Slugger: Jenna Brooke Tomes, daughter of Brandon & Deana Jo Tomes.

In the 6-7 Year Old Girls Category, were Second Runner-up:  Abby Marie Cockerell, daughter or Daniel and Amanda Cockerell; First Runner-up Miley Franzell, daughter of Chris & Joy Franzell; and Princess of the Diamond: Lily Ann Glass, daughter of Jon & Melissa Glass

In the 8-11 Year Old Girls category were First Runner-up Briley Webster, daughter of Jeff & Krista Webster, and Princess of the Diamond: Trinity Martin, daughter of Holly Pedigo and Willie Martin.

The final category was the 12-14 Year Old Girls, Second Runner-up Erin Paige Alford, daughter of Joe & Christy Alford; First Runner-up Allie Katheryn Daughtery, daughter of David & Karen Daughtery; and Queen of the Diamond: Taylor Nicole Burden, daughter of Chris & Tracy Burden.

Taylor enjoys reading, swimming, cheerleading, band, and track. Her favorite foods are hot wings and pickles, favorite color is teal, and favorite TV show is duck dynasty.

There were a lot of big smiles and hairdos seen throughout the event, and some of both were down by the end. Most of the contestants seemed to be in a hurry to shed their sparkly dresses and heels after playing dress up for two hours. Nine year old Trinity Martin, now Princess of the Diamond, how this to say: “[I get tired of smiling but] I just really do [pageants] for the fun… I just like doing them.” Her interests include playing outside, being on the dance team, and riding horses.

The pageant was sponsored by Butler County Little League, and by KY Farm Bureau, Merle Norman, Flener's Main Street Collections and Hood's Market. All funds raised at this event go towards the support the Butler County Little League.
