WKU honored 44 students from six high schools in five southcentral Kentucky counties for their academic achievements.
This year’s group has an average ACT composite score of 27.96 and grade-point average of 3.93 and included 21 Kentucky Governor’s Scholars.

The Butler County Fiscal Court met in regular session on Monday evening, October 13th, 2014 at the Butler County Courthouse. Magistrate David Whittinghill was absent from the meeting.

The first Butler County Genealogical Homecoming Event was held on Saturday at the Green River Museum in Woodbury, Kentucky. According to Jessica Moon, one of the organizers, the event all started with a couple of people on a facebook page who wanted to make a gathering so everyone could meet.

On September 30, 2014 the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office received a call for service in reference to a burglary that took place in the 100 block of Church Street in Rockport, Kentucky. The victim stated handguns, rifles, shotguns, and jewelry were taken from the residence.
