The Butler County Board of Education met in regular session on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at North Butler Elementary School. Board members Amy Hood, Delbert Johnson, Karen Evans, and Debbie Hammers were in attendance.

The Butler County Fiscal Court met in a brief special session on Tuesday evening, October 21, 2014, at 5:30. Magistrate Keith Daugherty was absent from the meeting. Two agenda items awaited the Court.

The Butler County EMS hosted an open house on Thursday, October 16, at their new location on KY 70/ Rochester Road in Morgantown. “We are very excited about the new facility,” said Brian McKinney, EMS Director. "We have the room we need for training and to accommodate our crews.”

Thursday night October 16 I saw comedian Ron White perform at SKYPAC. Ron’s opening act was comedian Alex Reymundo. Alex has had numerous comedy specials on Showtime and Comedy Central. He took part in Ron White’s Salute to the Troops and has toured with Ron for years.

WKU honored 44 students from six high schools in five southcentral Kentucky counties for their academic achievements.
This year’s group has an average ACT composite score of 27.96 and grade-point average of 3.93 and included 21 Kentucky Governor’s Scholars.

The first Butler County Genealogical Homecoming Event was held on Saturday at the Green River Museum in Woodbury, Kentucky. According to Jessica Moon, one of the organizers, the event all started with a couple of people on a facebook page who wanted to make a gathering so everyone could meet.
