Lindsey LaRay Porter is graduating on December 17 from Western Kentucky University with honors. Lindsey will have a bachelor's degree in Social Work and a minor in Criminology. She is the daughter of Donna Porter Flener and the late Danny Porter and the granddaughter of Berthlene Flener.

The magic of chemistry came to life with the help of Mrs. Jennifer Davis’ Chemistry 105/106 Dual credit class at MES and NBES today. Students demonstrated the effects of combining various elements to create everything from orange foam to orange dancing flames. Mrs.

Mrs. Simmons and her 1st grade class at Morgantown Elementary School spread Christmas cheer to the community.  The class walked to town and sang Christmas Carols at the Butler County Board of Education, PBI Bank, and WRECC.  The class sang songs in German and English.

Sunday the kids at Monticello Baptist Church performed a Christmas cantata complete with songs and speaking parts.  Joy Wells and Nathan Johnson worked with the kids for weeks.  Everyone in the congregation enjoyed the kids' performance.

 Butler County beef producers can sell some of their production animals without having to haul them out of Butler County.  The Butler County Stockman’s Association will be having a beef cattle production sale on Saturday, March 10, 2012.  The sale will be at the Eva. Hawes Ag.
