Phelps contributes for Midway as freshman

MIDWAY — Freshman forward Jenna Phelps contributed for the Midway University women's basketball team during its 2023-24 season. Phelps is a Butler County High School graduate.

As a freshman, Phelps appeared in 18 games for the Eagles. Phelps averaged 2.2 points per game, shooting 48 percent from the field. A former standout for Butler County High School, Phelps shot 68.2 percent from the free throw line in her first campaign as a women's college basketball player.

Midway University compiled a 13-17 record in the 2023-24 women's college basketball season. The Eagles compete in the River States Conference.

Several experienced players, including Phelps, will return for Midway University in its next campaign.

A native of Morgantown, Phelps is majoring in Nursing.
