Butler County falls to Madisonville-North Hopkins in 10 innings

Hancock County 11, Butler County 0 (5 innings)

Butler County was held scoreless as visiting Hancock County pulled away to win 11-0 in five innings on Tuesday, April 23. 

Miley Franzell started in the circle for Butler County and took the loss. 

Replacing Franzell, Karrington Hunt pitched in relief for the Bears. 

Offensively, Butler County was limited throughout the game. Hunt, Parker Willoughby and Taylor Smith each delivered one hit for the Bears. 

Following the loss, Butler County dropped to 2-14. 

Butler County is scheduled to host Edmonson County for a 12th District game at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 25. 

 

MADISONVILLE — Butler County came up short as Madisonville-North Hopkins held on to win 5-4 in 10 innings on Monday, April 22.

Miley Franzell pitched a complete game for Butler County and suffered the loss in the circle. Franzell recorded seven strikeouts over nine and one-third innings. 

Butler County scored four runs on seven hits. Franzell (one hit, two RBIs), Addison Miller (two hits, one RBI), Karrington Hunt (two hits), Parker Willoughby (two hits) and Mia Thomas (one RBI) each produced offensively for the Bears. Providing a lift at the plate for Butler County, Miller homered. 

 

Butler County drops 12th District games to Whitesville Trinity, Grayson County 

MORGANTOWN — Butler County dropped back-to-back 12th District softball games to Whitesville Trinity and Grayson County over a three-day span. 

Whitesville Trinity beat Butler County 13-10 in a 12th District softball game on Tuesday, April 16.

In a 12th District softball game on Thursday, April 18, Grayson County edged Butler County 10-9.     

Grayson County 10, Butler County 9: Butler County came up short as host Grayson County prevailed 10-9 in a 12th District softball game on Thursday, April 18. 

Battling back from behind, Grayson County pushed across two runs in the bottom half of the seventh inning to claim the win.

Miley Franzell pitched for Butler County and took the loss in the circle. Franzell struck out two Grayson County batters. 

Butler County scored nine runs on 11 hits. Franzell (one hit, one RBI), Madison Clark (two hits, three RBIs), Addison Miller (two hits, one RBI), Jenna Tomes (two hits), Karrington Hunt (one hit, two RBIs), Parker Willoughby (one hit), Mia Thomas (one hit) and Madison Jones (one hit) each delivered offensively for the Bears. 

 

Whitesville Trinity 13, Butler County 10:

Whitesville Trinity held on to defeat visiting Butler County 13-10 in a high-scoring 12th District softball game on Tuesday, April 16. 

Miley Franzell pitched for Butler County and suffered the loss in the circle. Franzell recorded four strikeouts. 

Butler County scored 10 runs on 17 hits. Franzell (three hits, one RBI), Karrington Hunt (four hits, two RBIs), Parker Willoughby (four hits, one RBI), Madison Clark (three hits, three RBIs), Mia Thomas (one hit, two RBIs), Addison Miller (one hit), Raylynn Nicewinter (one hit) and Taylor Smith (one RBI) each made an impact offensively for the Bears. Providing a lift at the plate for Butler County, Hunt homered.
