Beech Tree News presents: "Bears Spotlight" Case Hooten

Case is a guard for the 12th district championship and 3rd region championship basketball team. He is a junior at BCHS and the son of Bobbie Hooten and Amy Hood Waddle. Case lives in the Logansport community of Butler County.Case began playing basketball as a preschooler in the Upward Basketball program.  He continued playing all through elementary school in the Butler County Junior Pro league. In middle school, he was a part of the 6th, 7th and 8th grade GRVC championship team and was a part of an undefeated season his 8th grade season. 

 


His parents are also BCHS alumni.  His mom, Amy, was in the pep band for six years and cheered for the Butler County High School Lady Bears during her senior year.  His dad, Bobbie,  was active in FFA and was a member of the BCHS Bears Basketball team. 



Case is also a member of the BCHS track and field and cross country teams. State competitions are not totally new for Case. As a Cross Country team member, he has participated in the state CC meet for the past three years, and as a BCHS track member he has participated in the state outdoor track competition the past two years and is an integral part of the team that just recently placed 3rd in the state Indoor track competition. Due to that performance, he competed in the Adidas Track Nationals in the 4X800 Relay race earning 8th place overall. Case and his team mates currently hold the BCHSschool record for the 4X800 relay.  


Case also works hard in the classroom maintaining a 4.0 GPA. He is FCCLA President, a member of the Parliamentary Procedure team and knowledge bowl team competing at the FCCLA national conferences, a member of the Beta Club and the Renaissance Club. He attends Crossland Church and enjoys hanging out with his friends and relaxing when he has free time. He also enjoys traveling and learning all about new places.  He works as a lifeguard at the Morgantown City Pool in the summers.
