Butler County girls' archery team finishes fifth in state tournament

LEXINGTON — Butler County finished fifth out of 22 teams in the KHSAA Girls' Archery State Tournament on Tuesday, April 16. 

It's the highest finish for the Butler County girls' archery program. 

Larkin O'Connell shot a 287 and finished 14th out of 270 archers to lead Butler County in the KHSAA Girls' Archery State Tournament. 

Butler County's results from the KHSAA Girls' Archery State Tournament were as follows: 14th - Larkin O'Connell, 287; 16th - Maggie Childers, 286; 39th - Malia Merideth, 283; 47th - Courtnei Alexander, 281; 79th - Maelynn Bilicki, 279; 91st - Kaitlyn Coots, 277; 95th - Addison Henderson, 277; 120th - Lydia Brown, 273; 153rd - Evelyn Burdette, 268; 190th - Brooklyn Smith, 264; 226th - Lexi Bryant, 257. Butler County Middle School's Virgina White, 280 rank 3 out of 16 eighth grade girls, 6 out of 25 Middle School and 63 out of 295 overall girls rank.

Another archer, Eli Elis, represented Butler County in the KHSAA Boys' Archery State Tournament. Ellis shot a 282 and finished 62nd out of 229 archers the boys' archery state event.
