Jarrod Jacob: The Resurrection of Christ

I sometimes wonder if we’ve heard about some subjects so much that they’ve become “old hat” to us. Could such be the case with the resurrection of Christ? Have we heard about it so much that we do not realize its real meaning today? Perhaps it’s the other way – maybe we haven’t heard enough about the Lord’s resurrection but merely assume that we know more than we do.

Let us take a moment and study the resurrection of Christ and how it permeates the New Testament. Such a study amazes me to see how intertwined Christ’s resurrection is with the New Testament.

I have been listening to the news, and three topics caused me to do some more reading. I read about the presidential inauguration, stimulus money, and Kentucky’s Covid-19 vaccination schedule. Although these topics are not related, they each affect us.

Last spring, I changed the scheme in my bathroom from horses to trees.  I put up a Tree of Life shower curtain, a metal owl on a tree wall sculpture, and an Audubon Birds in Trees calendar.  I needed one more piece to complete the scheme, so I decided I would find a paint-by-number print on Amazon.  I browsed several before I selected “Girl on a Tree Swing.”  The colors matched my shower curtain, and it was just whimsical enough to fit my taste.

Jarrod Jacobs: What Will You Give?

Our Lord Jesus asked His apostles, “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Mk. 8:36-37). In an age when we’re told that possessing material goods is the purpose of life, we need to listen to the Lord’s words here.

In Kentucky, January and February tend to be our coldest months with some chance of snow or ice. One thing many people dread about winter is, when necessary, having to drive in hazardous conditions.

I read once that a man is never taller, than when he stops to help a child.

Cheryl Hughes; When in Rome

A week ago Sunday, I cut my left thumb with a razor blade.  I was scraping a label from a pickle jar, so I could use the jar for homemade jelly, when the razor blade slipped.  I cleaned the cut, put a Band-Aid on it then continued with my jelly making.  I had to change Band-Aids several times because of the bleeding, which I wrote off to the fact that I am on high blood pressure medicine.
