Exactly six years ago to August 7, 2016, Living Proof performed at Monticello Baptist Church's homecoming. This past Sunday, Monticello Baptist Church celebrated its homecoming. Monticello Baptist Church is in its 217th year.

Gospel group Living Proof returned to bring the Word via song.

It's Homemaker Pecan Time!!

              It’s pecan fundraising time for the Butler County Homemakers!  Homemakers are taking orders for the FRESH 2022 crop of Schermer pecans, either pieces, halves or chocolate halves, through October 14th.

Trinity Plunk, Smith Funeral Home Apprentice

Smith Funeral Home would like to introduce the newest staff member, Ms. Trinity Plunk. Ms. Plunk's employment began in December of 2021, and her apprenticeship started in April of this year. This young lady has a lifelong passion for serving her community. Therefore, she chose to attend school and earn her Associates in Mortuary Sciences, allowing her to be a Funeral Director and Embalmer.

Candidate Rebecca Raymer receives check from Butler County Republican Party

On July 19, 2022 the Butler County Republican Party held their meeting at Kuntry Kitchen.  Rebecca Raymer, candidate for House of Representatives, was in attendance and presented with a $1,000 check to assist her campaign.

"I am so grateful and absolutely humbled that the Butler County Republican Party of Kentucky surprised me with this donation tonight," expressed Raymer.  She also thanked Chairman Osei Thomas for proposing the donation, Judge Tim Flener for making the motion, and all the members for making the unanimous vote.

BACK TO SCHOOL 2022-2023: School Nutrition News

Hello BCS Families! Below you will find useful information regarding your student's meals, breakfast and lunch menus, and meal accounts.  

1. Breakfast and Lunch meals are FREE for all Butler County students! For students to receive a free breakfast and lunch, he/she must take a full, complete meal. This is made possible through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). Please encourage your student to eat for free with us everyday in order to us to sustain this program!

Senior Citizen Center opens in Morgantown

The Morgantown-Butler County Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting at the Butler County Senior Center on Friday, July 15. Manager Wanda Nevins welcomed everyone to the 104 North Warren Street location (basement of the Butler County Health Department).
