My Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Patriot

My DAR patriot is Rev. Moses Taylor. My eligibility to join the DAR is through my grandmother, Annie (Grubb) Flowers, who married Allie "Al" Flowers. She is the daughter of Millard Franklin Grubb, who married Susan R. Taylor. Susan R. Taylor was the daughter of Rev. Alfred Taylor, Sr. who was the son of Joseph Taylor, the son of Moses Taylor.

Ryman -two time Liver Recipient

Ryman Ali Little was born on April 24th, 2013. We were preparing to leave the hospital and take Ryman home a couple of days later when Ryman’s nurse came to us concerned about Ryman’s lack of eating not being as an alert. The NICU doctor at Baptist Hospital examined her and discovered that her ammonia level was very high, which could cause life-threatening issues. Ryman was then transferred to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital on her third day of life.

BCHS Science Teachers leaders at STEM-Festival

On Wednesday, April 14th Jennifer Davis, Madison Staton, Kayla Spurgeon, and Emily McAfee (Butler County High School science teachers) led a STEM education training session at the event, “STEM-Festival”, which involved regional educators hosted at the Green River Regional Educational Cooperative in Bowling Green, KY. The Butler County High School science teachers participate in the STEM-CS grant that was awarded to GRREC in 2019 by the U.S.

In my opinion, the notes function in the iPhone is one of the greatest functions ever invented.  I could say the same about Amazon’s Alexa device.  It is especially useful for people like me who need a little assistance remembering appointments, etc.  I guess everyone needs help remembering those things.  If not, day planners wouldn’t be as good of a seller as they are, well, were.

Yearlong Bio blitz connects 4-H families to nature

 During the next year, youth can learn more about the wild side of Kentucky through Kentucky 4-H Bio blitz. The program is a citizen scientist event that encourages 4-H members and their families to explore their state and observe and record the wild animals and plants they find in nature. Bio blitz begins May 1 and ends April 30, 2022.

Give Back to the Earth

Tammy Deweese took her homework assignment very seriously. Professor Jared Hanley of Owensboro Community College gave Tammy a few choices for her " Give Back to the Earth Project. " She rounded up friends and relatives from six families this past Thursday. They filled twelve large construction bags with trash from the Rochester Dam.

Butler County's average is above seventy-five percent because leaders, past and present keeping the young men active in completing merit badges to achieve the minimum of twenty-one required to become an Eagle.
