Butler County Cancer Assistance held their Annual Cancer Awareness night at the Boy/Girl doubleheader against Trinity High School.  Shirts were on sale, the ballplayers, cheerleaders, and fans showed their support with pink attire.

FREE Acrylic Painting Class at Extension Office – January 24

Join us for an upcoming Acrylic Painting Class scheduled for Thursday, January 24 at 9 a.m. and again at 5 p.m. at the Butler County Extension Service.

Create your replica of The Art Sherpa’s “Lighthouse in A Storm”. There will be no charge to attend, but you will be responsible for providing your own supplies and canvas. This will be a step-by-step painting process that both beginners and experienced painters can enjoy.

BCHS receives VSA Award to work with artist Suzanne Renfrow

Butler County High School has been awarded $1,300 for the 2019 VSA Kentucky Inclusion Project, "Mosaic Art", with VSA roster artist, Suzanne Renfrow.  This project is funded by VSA Kentucky, a non-profit organization that provides opportunities in the arts for children and adults with disabilities.  The project will begin February 5th and be completed the following month.

2019 Private Pesticide Applicator Training Dates Scheduled

The 2019 Private Pesticide Applicator training dates are now set. 

Farmers who apply pesticides on their own farm must be private pesticide applicators and keep records of the applications.  The training covers how to use the products safely, information about the worker protection standard, and some pest management issues common in Butler County.  

You may become a certified private applicator by attending one of three upcoming trainings offered free of charge at the Butler County Extension Office.  The trainings are on the following dates and times:

4-H Shooting Sports Volunteer Certification Workshop

Our kids need you!  Our youth need you to have the opportunity to participate in 4-H Shooting Sports - archery, rifle, shotgun, and more. 4-H Shooting Sports offers an awesome opportunity for our young people to learn, experience and compete. But, we need coaches.  We are limited by our supply of committed, caring coaches that participate in the program - we need you.  

Please consider becoming one of our certified leaders, coaches, and coordinators.  There are several positions to become certified in, with something for every skill and interest level.

Proclamation for National School Counseling Week

Officials gathered on Monday morning to sign a proclamation claiming February 4-8 National School Counseling Week.
The Proclamation was presented by the Kentucky School Counseling Association, the only professional organization solely devoted to representing School Counselors in Kentucky.  KSCA exists to represent Professional School Counselors and promote ethical practices and professionalism, empowering its members with knowledge, skills, connections, and resources to support academic, career, and personal/social development of all students.
