Monticello Easter Saturday

Saturday morning, April 20, Monticello Baptist Church had an Easter breakfast of pancakes and bacon for the kids in the community, followed by a short lesson by Bro. Randy Burns.  After breakfast and the lesson, there was a craft and an indoor egg hunt.  There were 25 kids in attendance, 52 in attendance including adults.  Everyone in attendance had a great time!

MES Students Participated in the Junior American Citizen Stamp and Poster Contest

MES students participated in the Junior American Citizen stamp and poster contest with the local Butler County National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. The state ceremony is on Saturday, April 27 in Bardstown, Kentucky. The local celebration will be on Tuesday, April 30 at the Educational Complex at 7:00pm. Here is a list of the winners:

Registration for UK’s Expanding Your Horizons Conference is now open!

Kentucky’s middle school girls and their parents/guardians are invited to join us for this Saturday conference on the University of Kentucky campus, April 20, 2019 from 10:00am-4:30pm. This day of hands-on workshops will give middle school girls the chance to meet STEM role models and get exposure to opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math.  

Parents and guardians who attend will get information on important topics like planning for college. Registration is $25 and includes lunch.  Scholarships are available!

4-H Adulting 101

Join 4-H for a lesson on the infamous topic of “Adulting”. Growing up is hard, but this class will help you adapt easier to adulthood when the time does come. These classes will help to inform the participants about how to buy a car, insurance, finances such as taxes: county, state, excise, income, and occupational tax. There will be door prizes such as oil changes, tire rotation, gas cards, microwave, dorm refrigerator and much more.

3rd Annual Early Childhood Extravaganza Fun!

Saturday, March 16th was full of fun for many children and families of Butler County as the Community Early Childhood Council held their 3rd annual Early Childhood Extravaganza at Butler County High School.  Getting ready for school doesn’t start the day before Kindergarten – but rather school readiness begins early and is all about establishing safe and healthy habits while making the most of every moment during the first five years.  With this as the focus, the Community Early Childhood members host an early childhood fair that includes representatives from many different agencies to help
