Two BC Softballers Attend College Expo

A pair of Butler County High School student-athletes spent Thursday, October 20, trying to impress college scouts.  Junior outfielder Jazmin Reynolds and sophomore third baseman Lynsie Clark, both players on the BCHS softball team, took part in a BSA Softball College Expo event on the campus of Campbellsville University.  The all-day event featured coaches and scouts from over 50 colleges and universities at all division levels, including WKU, Campbellsville, Murray State, UK, U of L, EKU, and UT. Players participated in a variety of drills and skill work while being observed and charted by scouts.  Rainy weather prevented an afternoon game.
BSA, a softball training facility located in Scottsville, sponsored the event in conjunction with Campbellsville.
Both Clark and Reynolds have plans to play softball at the college level and viewed this event as a way to get their names on the radar of college coaches.
"I'm excited that Jazmin and Lynsie took advantage of this great opportunity at BSA," said BCHS head softball coach John Embry.  "Putting up solid high school stats, an aggressive summer ball schedule, and taking part in college exposure events like these are precisely what it takes to get college scholarships and play at the next level.  Both of these young ladies are well on their way to achieving their goal of playing college softball."
