Tiffany Hampton: Life in Logansport

Have you ever had one of those moments when it seems that there's not enough hours in the day, or the week, or even the year?  Lord willing, we all have the same amout of time each day.  Somehow we still manage to get behind, become rushed, and can't seem to fit everything in.  "Why is this?" I keep asking myself.

At the end of most days we feel pretty good about what we have accomplished.  Yet, those days come, that we may feel unfinished.  We feel that our "to do" list was never fully completed.  We started cleaning one room and ended up in another room, we didn't make that phone call we said that we would, there's still one load of laundry in the dryer at bedtime.  Perhaps one of the kids reminds you that you didn't play that game together, or you realize the whole day went by and you never got to have an actual conversation with your spouse.  Each of these scenarios are very real.  Chances are, we have all been there.  And I still ask myself, "why?"

I do my best thinking at night when my head hits the pillow.  From what I have heard, this holds true for many women.  That moment brings the most relaxing, quiet time we have had since we first woke up.  The question of time management runs through my head often, and I still have no answer other than this: We make time for what we want to make time for.  That truth is somewhat harsh, but it's the answer that keeps coming back to me.  Somewheres along the path of life, we are all guilty of mismanaging our time.

To raise a good garden, one must spend time taking care of it properly.  Working a jigsaw puzzle takes time.  Simply boiling water takes time.  My point is that we should start each new day with one goal, and absolutely make time for it.  After a few days of setting and reaching one goal, challenge yourself with two goals, and reach them as well.  Then do three, and four, and so forth...  Starting small may give you big rewards.
