A Rochester Christmas

Friday evening December 2, Rochester held its 1st annual Community Christmas party at the Rochester Community Building.  A large crowd of at least 50 filled the building for the festivities.  To begin, they all gathered outside for the lighting of the Christmas tree.  The group returned inside where, after an invocation given by Eddie Johnson, everyone feasted on chili, various soups, sandwiches, and desserts.  There was a crockpot of soup, seemingly, for everyone in attendance.

After the meal, there was a quilt drawing which was won by Mattie Wells.  There was a visit by Santa (thanks to Ron Ingram), which delighted all the kids who attended.  Many thanks to Sue Hammers and all who made this event a huge success, and hopefully the first of many to come.
