Reedyville First Annual Hunter's Fundraiser
Members of the Reedyville Rural Development Community Center were busy as beavers on Saturday, November 10, hosting their first annual two day Hunter’s Breakfast and Lunch Fundraiser. “This was our maiden voyage,” said Mary Basham about the inaugural event that featured home cooking by some of the best cooks in the area.
Breakfast was scrambled eggs, a variety of meats, hot off the griddle fluffy pancakes, biscuits and gravy, and cinnamon spiced fried apples.
Lunch featured chili, bbq sandwiches, chips, snacks, desserts, a warm atmosphere and plenty of talk about cooking and hunting.
The event started at 3 am. and lasted until 2 pm. with more than 50 hunters coming by before sunrise to have breakfast, then heading out to their deer stands, and coming back later for lunch. Bobbie Gail Rogers, her husband friends came up from Mississippi to hunt because they say Kentucky deer taste better.
The fundraiser earned more than $400 that will be distributed between the Boys and Girls Club, St. Judes, an adopted family for Christmas, with any hard earned leftovers going towards building renovations.
