Public Hearing Notice
To all interested citizens of Butler County, Kentucky:
The Kentucky Department for Local Government is accepting application material under the Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus Response (CDBG CV) Utility Assistance Program. The Butler County Fiscal Court intends to apply for assistance on behalf of their eligible utility providers for households/customers who have been financially impacted by COVID-19 and who are in danger of having their utilities disconnected due to inability to make payment. Funds will be used towards payment assistance to utilities on behalf of eligible residential applicants towards shut off or disconnect of critical utility services to ensure services are retained. Critical utility services include but not limited to , water, sewer, gas, electric, and other heating and cooling costs.
The Butler County Fiscal Court will hold a public hearing prior to the submission of the application. The public hearing will be held on Thursday June 10, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the Butler County Courthouse. The purpose of this hearing is to obtain views on community development needs, review proposed activities, review the proposed application, and solicit public comments. Technical assistance is available to help groups representing low- and moderate-income persons in developing proposals.
The following information concerning the CDBG CV program is available for public inspection by contacting either the Barren River Area Development District or the Butler County Judge Executive Office. A. Amount of funds available and range of activities that may be undertaken.
B. Estimated amounts of funds proposed to be used for activities benefiting persons of low and moderate income.
Plans for minimizing displacement of persons as a result of activities associated with CDBG funds and plans for providing assistance to those persons to be actually displaced as a result of CDBG-funded activities.
Records regarding the past use of CDBG funds.

Comments on Application
A copy of the CDBG CV application material will be on file at the Barren River Area Development District and County Judge Executive Office. A copy may be obtained by written request to 177 Graham Avenue, Bowling Green, KY 42101, or by email request to firstname.lastname@example.org. Citizens may review and comment from June 2, 2021, through June 10, 2021. Written comments on the proposed application may be submitted to Tim Flener, County Judge/Executive until the close of business on June 10, 2021.
