Operation Christmas Child

A simple gift!!!!  It is Shoe Box time again.  Since 1999 Butler Countians have sent approximately 5790 shoe boxes loaded with gifts, through Franklin Graham’s Ministry.  These boxes have gone all over the world.  Last year some boxes from here went to Ghana, Africa and sometimes the children write back to say thank you.  Some of our very own Butler Countians go the processing centers and help pack these boxes for shipment.  Perhaps you saw the Diane Sawyer TV special last week of Native Americans in South Dakota.  Shoeboxes are sent to many of these children.  It’s easy to pack a shoebox—instructions can be picked up at Drake’s Farm Service, Gasper River Associational Bldg., Morgantown Community Church and First Baptist Church.  Every item is a treasure to child that has no Christmas gifts.  Seeing boys and girls come to faith in Jesus Christ and spread the good news in their communities is the ultimate mission of Operation Christmas Child.  Time is short as boxes need to be returned the week of Nov. 14-21.
