Mary Ann Johnson

Mary Ann Johnson, age 93 passed away Saturday the 24th day of December 2022 at the Morgantown Care & Rehab Center. Mary was born to the union of the late Arvel and Fannie Fields Johnson on Monday the 31th day of December 1928. Mary was the wife of the late Sonny Johnson. She is preceded in death by one son Harold Johnson, four brothers Chester, Ben, Len "Inky" and Laron Johnson, two sisters Barbara Coleman and Lilly Marie Johnson and one granddaughter Ashlee' Vincent. Mary was a teacher in a one room school house for 3 years and a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, reading, writing, and  watching birds. Mary loved sending thinking of you cards to bring cheer to all her friends and neighbors. 

Mary Johnson is survived by two sons Linden (Rhonda) Johnson and Nickolas Johnson all of Morgantown, KY; one daughter in law Nadine Johnson of Morgantown, KY; two sister in laws Geraldine Johnson of Magnolia, KY and Carol Johnson of Merritt, North Carolina; six grandsons Chris (Rhonda), Patrick (Lisa), Doug (Rebecca), Geoffrey (Amanda), Nathan (Joy) and Jeremy (Rachael) Johnson all of Morgantown, KY; one granddaughter Samantha (Kevin) Daugherty; 21 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; 1 great great expected in 2023; three brothers Keen (Elaine) Johnson of Morgantown, KY, Dwight (Norma) Johnson of Morgantown, KY and Harry Lee Johnson of Auburn, KY and many nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 11:00am with Geoffrey Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Ridgeview Cemetery where her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 4:00 pm - 8:00pm and Thursday 9:00am until funeral at 11:00am at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
