Little Muddy Rural Development Club News

The Little Muddy RD Club met October 17th, 2011 at 6:30 p.m.  There were 20 people present.  The meeting began with Maggie Drake leading the club in the pledge to the American flag.  Scott Keen gave the blessing for the meal. After the meal Vice President, Danny Dye called the business meeting to order. The minutes were read by Assistant Secretary, Laurie Keen.  The club thanked the hostess for the night, Shirley Keen.   The birthdays and anniversaries were announced and celebrated with song.
In old business, Danny Dye opened the floor for nominations for the 2011-2012 club officers. A motion was made to elect the following slate of officers: President Sean Weeks, Vice President Danny Dye, Secretary Donnita Weeks, Assistant Secretary Laurie Keen and Treasurer Mary Hatcher. The motion carried. Johnny Tuck announced that over $5000 dollars was raised at the Second District Fire Department fundraiser.
In new business, Johnny Tuck announced that there will be a radio auction in December and the proceeds will go to the Butler County Boys & Girls Club. Gregory Drake announced that the annual pork burger dinner would be held on Wednesday October 19th starting at 10:00 a.m. Members volunteered to help and bring desserts to the event. He also announced that the annual meeting would be held on November 5th at 6:00 p.m. at the Butler County Extension Office. Members volunteered to prepare the needed food for the event and Greg informed club members that Caleb Smithson would be the entertainment for the night. Danny Dye talked to members about the club sign. The sign needs to be replaced. Johnny Tuck suggested putting this on hold so he could talk to some people to see if he could get a new sign at a cheaper price. Johnny Tuck also thanked Gabe Keen for representing the Little Muddy RD club at the fiscal court meeting where we were presented the check for the trash pickup. Leeann Hudnall announced that Cub Scout Troop 208 will be having a “Rodeo for Veterans” at the City Park on November 12th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30. The event will be held at the 2nd pavilion on the right. Laurie Keen invited everyone out to the Butler County tractor show that will be held on October 21st and 22nd at the City Park. It was also announced that there would be a cattle sale at the Eva Hawes building on March 10, 2012. Gregory Drake talked about the CEC what the club is and invited everyone to the meeting on October 24th at 6:00p.m. There was no other business and Vice President Danny Dye turned the program over to program leader Gregory Drake. Greg gave an informative program about economic development activities in the area. He discussed the business incubator program, job skills training, the Morgantown Chamber of Commerce, the Kentucky Entrepreneur Coaches Institute, the Citizens Advisory Committee and more.  After the program there was no other business and the meeting was adjourned. The next meeting will be held on November 21st at 6:30 p.m. at the Little Muddy Community Center. Everyone is invited to attend.
