Moms have a tough job. Would you agree?   Recently people everywhere celebrated Mothers through Mother’s Day.   And we should. Moms often work more hours than thinkable to raise their kids and fulfill all the other obligations in and out of the home.  And yes. They often do not get the recognition or appreciation for all the long, hard days and nights devoted to their families.

But what does God expect of mothers?   First and foremost, He wants them to be holy, righteous, and godly.  Throughout the Bible we read of sacrificial moms like Sarah, Eunice, and Hannah.  God needs godly moms who will influence their children to praise and seek God. Our society needs mothers who will teach and provide the right example so everyone else can benefit from good and thoughtful kids.

In 2 Timothy 1:5 Paul says, “when I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also. “  It starts because of mothers and is transferred on to children because of mothers.   God wants mothers to be MORAL.   This is sorely lacking in many areas of towns and cities. Mom needs to share her faith with her children and emphasize God’s will over our will.   We do not need to become like the world.  Please read Romans 12:1-2. We don’t need to dress like the world or talk like the world or sound like the world. Mommas pass on godly values.

God wants mothers who are MOTIVATED to encourage her children to love others and treat people with respect, even if others don’t show it. Ecclesiastes 9:10 says, “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might…”. Why?  Because it makes sense, and one day we will be accountable before God.  2 Corinthians 5:10. Mommas., let God motivate and stir you.

God wants MISSION MINDED. Mothers. What is your aim in life?  Do moms lead by example and point the way to glory?  Life is full of goals and hopes. Include God in every one of them. Mothers should want their kids to go to Heaven. It takes more than wishing. It takes doing something. It always has. If somebody wants to achieve a goal, such as becoming a Christian, then God’s Word must be followed.

Mommas, God wants you to be Moral, Motivated, and Mission Minded for the sake of your Children. We love and appreciate you. May God do the same. In Him, Kenny
