With approximately 215 terrapins competing and 18 individual heat races, Tanner Farris, Katie Duncan and Conner Diehl finished in the top three positions  overall at the 2018 Green River Catfish Festival Terrapin Race, held Wednesday morning, July 4, at the Charles Black Park in Morgantown.  

 

1st Place went to Tanner Farris, who won $25; 2nd Place went to Katie Duncan-$20; 3rd Place was Conner Diehl-$15.  Each of the overall winners also received trophies provided by Bulleye’s Taxidermy, owner R.B. Griffin.  

The annual terrapin race is sponsored by Cassia Lodge #272 F&AM, Jones Funeral Chapel and Monument Company, Henderson Land Surveying, Butler County Shrine Club, Beech Tree News, and Drake’s Farm Service.  

Over $600 in award money was given out by these sponsors.  Each individual race paid out $15 for 1st place; $10 for second; and $5 for 3rd place winners.
