Coots recognized by United States Achievement Academy

A Butler County Middle School student has been recognized nationally by the United States Achievement Academy and Who's Who Among All-American Scholars. Collin Coots, an eighth grader at BCMS, has been honored by the USAA as a National Leadership and Service Award winner during the 2011-12 school year.

In a letter to his parents, director of the Academic Achievement Council Scott Washing said, "The Evaluations Committee of United States Achievement Academy has completed its analysis of grades of the previous year's award winners and has selected only the top ten percent of those who might qualify. We are pleased to report that Collin Coots is one of that elite group and has been honored as a USAA National Leadership and Service Award winner."

Collin was previously recognized as a Who's Who Among All-American Scholars and as a National Social Studies Award recipient during the 2010-11 school year.

For receiving this recognition, Collin is eligible to have a personal biography printed in the USAA National Yearbook. He also qualifies for a USAA educational cash grant worth up to $10,000.

"In years to come, this unique honor should become of greater and greater importance because it is a permanent record of achievement reached by only a relative few students," said Washing.

Collin is the son of Vic and Jo Ann Coots of Monford Road. Congratulations to Collin on this achievement.
