Valentine’s Day Hats -This year we made over 100 red, pink and white hats for the newborns at the Medical Center for Valentine’s Day.

I delivered them about a week before Valentine’s Day and met two babies about to leave the hospital as I went in. I stopped and opened my big bag, explained what I was doing, and gave each one a pretty hat. They seemed surprised and pleased.  I hope all the new mothers know that we send blessing for a healthy, beloved baby with each little cap.  I heard that T.J. Sampson hospital was on WBKO talking about the Big Hearts Little Hats program there. I did send WBKO a picture of our hats, but I think the next time I make a delivery I will just stop by the station, maybe with a few other Crocheters, so they know we support our local hospital too.

Our crochet sock class is doing well, the pattern is really beautiful and works up quickly, but we have had some gauge problems. With any project where size is important you really must do a gauge swatch first.

Since I don’t have a lot of news this time I am including a simple dishcloth (or facecloth) pattern).
