Butler County suffers loss to McLean County
CALHOUN - Butler County was unable to notch a win on the road in its latest outing. Jacob Clark scored a team-high 25 points as host 3rd Region rival McLean County beat Butler County 72-63 for its fourth straight win on Thursday night.
Butler County dropped to 13-10 with the loss.
With the win, McLean County improved to 10-12.
Logan Patterson accompanied Clark in double figures in scoring for the Cougars, posting 15 points. Narrowly missing double figures for McLean County, Hunter Patrick, AJ Cline and Brady Dame chipped in nine points apiece.
McLean County took a lead out of each quarter. The Cougars led 27-25 at halftime and outscored Butler County 26-22 in the third period.
Brayden Bishop and Trey Englehardt rounded out the McLean County individual scoring, chipping in three points and two points, respectively.
Jaden Hurt paced Butler County with a game-high 26 points. Joining Hurt in double figures for the Bears, Parker Rice added 14 points.
Justin Elms scored seven points, Macauley Hampton and Solomon Flener contributed six points apiece and Leevi McMillin netted four points for the Bears in the setback.
Butler County is scheduled to host Cloverport in regular-season home finale at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12.
