BCHS Basketball History

We continue with the second article in a series on the history of Butler County Boys' Varsity Basketball. The following information can be found in the BCHS gym lobby trophy case, but we felt readers would enjoy it and bring back memories.

Teams, games in BCHS Boys Basketball History: 

 Head Boys Basketball Coach Bill Warren is the only coach in BCHS school history to take the team(s) to the Regional Finals. Six times in ten years, the BCHS Bears were one win away from the KHSAA Boys Sweet 16 State Tournament; but the Bears would be the Regional Runner Up in all (6) games.

1953-54 loss to Central City 79-63, overall record 27-3

1955-56 loss to Central City 43-41, overall record 27-8

1956-57 loss to Hartford HS, NA, overall record 26-7

1960-61 loss to Beaver Dam 74-67, overall record 21-12

1961-62 loss to Caneyville 49-47, overall record 22-12

1962-63 loss to Hancock Co. 63-61, overall record 23-10
