BCHS Band Places 7th in Semi-Finals

UPDATE:The Butler County High School Marching Band finished seventh in the state 2A Competition on Saturday at Greenwood High School.  BCMS Band Director Boyce Flener and BCHS Band Director Jason Ausbrooks are pictured above with the winning plaque.  Congratulations, we are proud of you!

The Butler County High School band toured around the county on Friday, October 28th to get pumped up for Semi Finals on Saturday, October 29th.  The band visited North Butler Elementary School, Morgantown Elementary School, The Board of Education, and Butler Co. High School.  The convoy of supporters followed the three buses of band students around the county to listen to their award-winning music.  The band played both their Marching Show and Pep Music.  Everyone could feel the enthusiasm in the air as the students played and filled the air with their beautiful sounds.

Semi Finals are being held tomorrow, Saturday, October 29th at Greenwood High School. B.C.H.S. Band will take the field at 11:45.  There will be 16 in competition for four Final Spots.  Finals will be held at Western Kentucky University later that evening.  Admission for Semi Finals is $10.00.

This weekend is the last competition for the 2011 marching band season, so come out and become a part of our Sea of Blue at Semi Finals.  The band has had a remarkable year.  This year the band has had an undefeated color guard, first place percussion at all shows but one, first place in AA except one show, one Reserve Grand Champion, two Grand Champions, and a Distinguish Rating at Regionals.

The Butler County High School Band and staff can not express how thankful they are for the overwhelming support of families, school district, and the community.

Good Luck at State and Go Band!
