BC Cross Country Compete In Mustang Stampede

The Butler County Cross-Country team was in competition Saturday October 8th at the Muhlenberg County Mustang Stampede. The meet boasted 20 teams from the western part of the state and it provided good competition.
For the elementary races, Delaney Embry, 5th grader at MES, took top honors for Butler County by finishing 3rd overall in the female race with a 3k time of 13:02. Hannah Logan, 6th grader at BCMS, also came in the Top 10 (9th overall) for the team. Both girls received race t-shirts for their accomplishments.
 
 
For the Varsity girls race, Olivia Neighbors, 8th grader at BCMS, led the way finishing 13th overall with a time of 22:47. Maranda Pierson, 8th grader at BCMS, was right behind finishing 14th overall. Both girls received race t-shirts for finishing in the Top 20. Other notable finishers were Kierra Neighbors, 6th grader at BCMS, who finished 21st overall with a time of 23:18; Chanda Hampton, 10th grader at BCHS, who finished 23rd overall in 23:27; and Hannah Perry, 7th grader at BCMS, who finished 44th overall with a time of 25:47. The girls team was able to capture 4th place overall.
 
 
 
The Varsity boys team had 4 boys finish the race in the 19 minute range. Those runners include Ethan Jenkins, 10th grader, Kenneth Johnson, 11th grader, Dylan Havens, 11th grader, and Cameron Price, 8th grader. The boys team was able to receive 7th place as a team out of 14 full teams that competed.
The BC Cross-Country team will compete this Saturday at the Glasgow Christian Academy Warrior Run and then the Elementary and Middle School teams will compete Thursday October 20th at the West Kentucky Championship Meet. Good luck to all!
