Anita Karlene Akin, age 84 of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at the Morgantown Care and Rehab. Anita was born on Saturday, September 18, 1937 in Butler County, KY to the union of the late Karl and Naomi Borah Nole and wife of the late Clay Dean Akin. She was a homemaker and member of Morgantown First Baptist Church and Butler County Homemakers Association. Anita loved cooking, reading and taking care of her loving family. Other than her parents and husband she is preceded in death by two brothers Boyd and Jimmy Nole. 

Anita Karlene Akin is survived by one daughter Gaye Barrow (Dwight) of Morgantown, KY; one son Jerry L. Akin of Sarasota, FL; one granddaughter Maura Crowder Lindsey (Ryan) of Morgantown, KY; five grandsons Kyle Crowder and Derek M. Crowder (Julie) both of Morgantown, KY, Adam Akin (Samantha) of Newburgh, IN, Andrew Akin of Evansville, IN and Aaron Akin (Cassidy) of Evansville, IN; three great granddaughters Ava Lindsey, Vivianne Lindsey and Essie Jones; one great grandson Deklin Jones and several nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2022 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel. Graveside services and burial will be Friday, May 20, 2022 at 11:00am in the Hill Haven Memory Garden with Bro. Greg Wallace officiating.
