Accepting Bids for Morgantown City Park

RECEIPT OF PROPOSAL: The City of Morgantown will receive sealed bids for the Morgantown City Park until 4:00 pm (CST) on March 19, 2021 at the Eva J. Hawes Ag Expo and Community Center located at 363 Park Lane, Morgantown, KY 42261. Interested bidders shall contact the office of the Engineer of Record Arnold Consulting Engineering Services Inc. to obtain access to the Bid Plans, Documents, and Specifications. A public bid opening will be held at the Eva J. Hawes Ag Expo and Community Center at 4:00 pm (CST) on March 19, 2021.

COVID 19 NOTES: Due to the ongoing pandemic the City of Morgantown will be following CDC guidelines regarding slowing the spread of the virus. While on City Property all bidders will be always required to wear masks, maintain social distancing of at least 6ft, and expect to have temperatures checked prior to admittance to any public city owned facility. Bidders who fail to maintain the above restrictions will not be admitted to the bid opening or any pre bid meetings.

PRE-BID MEETING: A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at the Eva J. Hawes Ag Expo and Community Center on February 26, 2021 @ 10:30 AM. Bidders will be granted access to existing park facilities during the pre-bid upon request. In the event of inclement weather bidders will be notified of any changes to the Pre-bid date, time, or location.

PROJECT: The project consists of construction of 6 tennis courts, 2 soccer fields, 2 baseball/softball fields, 1 baseball/softball/half soccer field, pickle ball courts, basketball courts, new parking fields throughout the park, realigned entrance road, 2 amphitheaters, disc golf course, new park pavilions, all new sports led lighting, electrical, sewer, and water utilities throughout the park, and other additional park enhancements. The new park pavilions, ball field out buildings, and camera/security will be bid as design build. Additional information is provided in the bid package.

BID BOND: A bid bond in the amount of 5% of the proposed bid will be required.

OBTAINING CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: Plans and specifications will be made available to bidders in both hard copy and electronic form beginning Monday February 22, 2021 at 8:00 am. Access to bid documents may be obtained by contacting the Engineer of Record at the following contact information:

Prior to receiving access to bid documents in electronic or paper copy form, payment of a nonrefundable fee of $100.00 will be required.

OWNER’S RIGHT RESERVED: The City of Morgantown reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive any informalities in the bidding. No bids shall be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days after the opening of bids without consent of the Owner.
