Signature Care and Rehab Honor Veterans

Signature Care and Rehab honored their veterans on Tuesday afternoon.  David Hunt provided the music and Jennifer Odle, of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 5837, gave American flags to everyone in attendance. 

The Butler County High School Jr. Navy ROTC presented the colors.  Shirley Allen led the pledge, while Tiffany Winchel sung the National Anthem.  Air Force veteran, Jewell Pharris gave the invocation.


Major Robert Redmond was the guest speaker.  He shared information concerning the number of veterans and percentage of people serving in the military.
“Eighty percent of people over 80 years of age served this country,” said Redmond.  “Currently, about 12 percent of the population serves this country. During the Viet Nam War about 60-70 percent served.”
Redmond also spoke about the sacrifices made by the families of those that serve.
“My wife always paid a higher price than I did while I was serving,” said Redmond. 


Chaplin Derek Cain and David Hunt performed “God Bless America” after which the following Veterans at Signature Care and Rehab were recognized:

Bryant McClellan concluded the program with the playing of “Taps” , followed by the retiring of the colors by the NJROTC.
