Rogers signs to play college softball at Lindenwood University

Surrounded by family, friends, coaches, teammates and school administrators, Amy Rogers, a BCHS Softball standout catcher, signed her letter-of-intent on Friday, April 18, to play college softball at Lindenwood University-Belleville (LU-Belleville). The signing ceremony was held at the BCHS Athletic Fieldhouse.

"I want to thank God, my family and teammates for supporting me in achieving my goal of playing college softball," said Rogers.

"Amy has been a major part of our sustained success over the last several years," said BCHS head softball coach John Embry.  "She has put up huge numbers for us, achored our team behind the plate since her freshman season, and has been a leader on and off the field.  I'm confident she'll bring that same work ethic and attitude to Lindenwood.  They are lucky to have a player and person like Amy."

Located in Belleville, Illinois, Lindenwood University is a private, four-year liberal arts university. The Lindenwood Lady Lynx plays in the NAIA division and the school has an enrollment of approximately 1,900 students.

Rogers is the latest in a growing list of players from Butler County to play college softball.  She joins CheyAnne Gaskey (Murray State), Morgan Manning (Brescia) and Madeline Drake (Brescia) in the college ranks as current players.  Another current Butler County softball player, Lynsie Clark, is expected to make her final college decision in the coming days.
