Greg Woodcock Retirement Ceremony

On Thursday December 18, faculty and staff members from Morgantown Elementary School gathered with some community officials to celebrate Greg Woodcock's retirement as well as remember his time in the Butler County School system. The gathering began at approximately 3:30 PM  in the library of Morgantown Elementary, where cake and punch were served. Mr. Woodcock took the floor to speak. "There's never been a day when I got up and dreaded coming to work. I've always had great people around me, and it's been an incredible time. I have a lot of great memories," said Woodcock. Woodcock was also presented with a quilt containing M.E.S tee shirts, quilted by Karrie Robbins.



Next, the crowd was directed to the gymnasium down the hall, where several community officials had kind words for Mr. Woodcock. Mayor Keown, Sherriff Scottie Ward, Jeff Jennings, and Supt. Scott Howard all had pleasant and funny stories to tell. December 19 was also officially proclaimed to be "Greg Woodcock Day" in Morgantown. Last on the agenda was the presentation of a retirement tribute video produced by Jeremy Hack and Lock Four Productions. Following the emotionally-charged video, The guests stayed after to give Mr. Woodcock hugs, pose for photos, and share more stories from his time in the school system.
